One Friday night during the peak of the Covid lockdown my Swiss photographer brother and I went out with our cameras to capture some of San Diego’s busiest streets, now empty and somewhat eerily illuminated by neon and streetlamps. This image is definitely one of my favorites from that session. Standing in the middle of one of my favorite intersections in the city with a tripod, looking down the vanishing point and wondering what’s ahead. I am fascinated by the timeless and gothic mystery of the city at night, and the way that neon light colors dark spaces while the world sleeps.
