Capturing this Hilo surf break on my first trip to the Big Island stands out as one of the most epic moments in my career as a photographer. The sheer majesty and power of the scene was overwhelming. Yet time was limited, so I set out with my tripod, ambling around the reef to literally soak in what can only be described as church.
